Encountered too many problems

The first problem was getting the file unzipped; for some reason my XP didn't want to unzip it . . . so I downloaded another zip manager and managed to unzip. Then, because I use Open Office instead of MS Office, I had lots of other problems getting OO to recognize the file (perhaps because it had retained the .zip extension). Finally, after I re-saved the file as just .xls, I couldn't get OO to open the file. By that time, I needed to take pain medication for my migraine, and I deleted everything having to do with the file.

Q1: I intended to use it to determine how to get out of credit card debt.
Q2: This program didn't help me solve my task.

Since I'm in my late 60s, the problem may be in me. I probably did something wrong or didn't understand what I was supposed to be doing . . . however, I've used both MS and Linux OSs for over 20 years.

Thanks for asking about my comments; I hope other people are having more luck with the program that I did, since it could be very helpful if it worked.
